To build a better future, one must invest in the world’s future leaders. Eisenhower Fellows, already accomplished leaders in their own countries, expand their worldview and their impact through the Eisenhower Fellowships. With their help, the world will see greater progress toward becoming a global community. Message from our Chairman: Henry A. Kissinger

The Eisenhower Fellowship head office based in Philadelphia, U.S.A. houses 22 staff and is led by its President, John S. Wolf, who was voted into office year 2004. They make up just a fraction of the wider network of individuals in the EF network.

The President and the staff are directed by the Board of Trustees, made up of around 70 members and chaired by Dr.Henry Kissinger. In addition over 70 people are represented on the USA Steering Committee, which represents the various regions and sectors of the U.S., whilst around 20 members are part of the EF Advisory Council, members from public and private sectors of the U.S.A. Lastly contributing to the strategy and design of the EF programs are around 30 people who are represented on the EF Alumni Advisory Council (AAC) from around the globe, including one Sri Lankan, the Chairman of Prudential Holdings (Pte) Ltd. (PHL Group), Mr. H.Dayananda Gunwardena.

Eisenhower Fellowships was founded in 1953 as a tribute to Dwight D. Eisenhower from his friends as he assumed the U.S. presidency. Its purpose and design reflect his conviction that greater understanding among individuals fosters greater understanding among nations, contributing to the peace and progress of all countries and all people.

From the start in 1953, Eisenhower Fellowships has been inspired by the belief that informed individuals are the hope of every nation and by a mandate to share knowledge with others around the globe. Some 1600 Fellows from 106 countries have participated in Eisenhower Fellowships since it’s founding. Of these 19 Sri Lankans who have represented Sri Lanka as part of the Multi National program (MNP) for Sri Lanka, which commenced in 1957, 4 Sri Lankans were nominated for the South Asia Single Region Program (SRP) in 2004, and one Sri Lankan is represented in the EF’s Alumni Advisory Council (AAC).
